About Digital Downtown

What: DIGITAL DOWNTOWN is Lower Manhattan's consumer technology expo, designed to serve the one-on-one information needs of high-income consumers who need a convenient way to learn about the latest new products without leaving the Financial District -- or even their office complex.

Where: DIGITAL DOWNTOWN takes place in the grand plaza – The Winter Garden -- of the architecturally acclaimed World Financial Center, the daily home of over 40,000 employees of American Express, Merrill Lynch, Dow Jones, Deloitte & Touche, New York Mercantile Exchange, Fidelity Investments and Mass Mutual, five minutes from Wall Street. The Winter Garden is the second largest public space in NYC (after Grand Central Station) and is visited by nearly 2 million people throughout the year. What's more, there are 310,000 additional workers in Lower Manhattan within easy reach of this dramatic architectural landmark. 500,000 commuters pass minutes away through the area's public transportation hub every day. It's also NYC's fastest growing residential neighborhood, including the 15,000-person Battery Park City and Tribeca.  Digital Downtown will kick off the annual River to River downtown arts and entertainment festival that brings over 1,000,000 visitors to lower Manhattan ever summer.

Why: This is the financial capital of the world, where international brands are made and markets are driven.  DIGITAL DOWNTOWN makes it fast and easy for these market influencers to buy and explore today's new consumer technologies. The Financial District is the third largest work community in America, and it features an increasing population of upscale residents as well as tourists who are there to pay tribute at Ground Zero.

Who: Brookfield Properties, owner of the World Financial Center, has invited The Consumer Electronics Association, Dealerscope and E-Gear Magazines and Martin Porter & Associates to produce DIGITAL DOWNTOWN at this prestigious and strategic location. The WFC Arts & Events Program will receive a portion of all proceeds.
